Portsmouth Sandstone Paving

The client had recently purchased this house and as summer was on the way they wanted to adapt the outdoor space of the garden they had acquired.

The garden had been left for a little while and left to grow, a lot of essential cutting back was required along with the removal of some trees and shrubs that brought more space and light into the garden.

Once the work of the selected trees and shrubs were removed it was time to concentrate on the hard landscaping of this garden.

CREATING THE GARDEN

Charles was asked to meet the client and undertake the works of their brief, to create this much loved but unattended garden back into a more welcoming family garden. Every garden serves a different purpose for each and every one of us.

With the removal of Trees and shrubs this garden felt and looked a lot bigger and you could see the shape of the garden too.

The current paving at the property was not desirable and had out lived its stay, the lower terrace of the patio was compromised of a hard wood which was neither in a good or bad state but was extremely slippery when wet.

The landscaping required a better design to some steps to the house as the previous steps were far too steep and narrow.

THE FINAL LANDSCAPE DESIGN

After viewing samples of different paving the choice was a mint Indian Sandstone, extra steps have been built to accommodate the levels.

The removal of the deck was replaced with the paving and a new wall was built to end the steps by the patio.

A further ongoing maintenance continues on this garden to keep the garden in good shape. Benton landscapes can look after every aspect of your garden and grounds maintenance.

Bexley Sandstone Paving

I remember this job well, being my first big job I won and knowing I was under pressure from the other competitors.

I had met the client several times to discuss their wants, needs, dislikes and budget and being the youngest out of the other competitors the client had every trust in me to undertake their requirements.

CREATING THE GARDEN

The garden was left abandoned after recent house renovations, we were left with two levels and an idea of what the client wanted for us to achieve. It was important to have a large area from the opening of the bi-fold doors for the family to sit on the patio and not feel to Claustrophobic.

With a path for everyone to use to walk around the whole garden and a lawn in the middle, off set there was a small terrace for an additional BBQ area. The garden was then planted in a clean simple design.

THE FINAL LANDSCAPE DESIGN

The use of Mint Indian Sandstone was laid in a random laying pattern and this was also continued around the garden.

The use of Aco Drainage was essential and was installed into the appropriate drainage systems.

The Lawn area was stripped and rotated with the additional topsoil applied and fresh new quality turf laid. We are really pleased with the end results.
